The mission of the Summer 2010 Field Expedition of the Mason-Yale Joint Project on Eastern Africa was to validate modeling assumptions and data concerning actors (agents), social relations, and ecosystems in the area of study with reference to our fourth and final model, called MASON RiftLand. Our team consisted of six members and we conducted air and ground surveys in four countries during August 2010. Flight paths (average 10,000 feet elev.) and ground imagery resulted in approximately 10,000 photographs and approximately seven hours of high-resolution (3CCC HD) video clips. This presentation will describe the RiftLand model, our model development methodology, and selected results from the expedition.
