Report on the Krasnow Institute's
EVOLUTION, NEUROBIOLOGY & BEHAVIOR WORKSHOP 1995

Harold Morowitz Krasnow Institute for Advanced Study

The kingdom Animalia consists of two major subkingdoms, the Protostomia and Deuterostomia. Animals in each of these have networks of neurons and sophisticated behavioral repertoires. The meeting being reported on, brought together zoologists, psychologists, neurobiologists, and modelers studying cognition by comparative methods and examining the coevolution of neural structures and behaviors. Some 30 taxa were reported on in this effort to get at the biological and evolutionary roots of the mind.
