Benjamin B. Beck
Associate Director for Biological Programs National Zoological Park
Smithsonian Institution

Putting captive-born animals back into the wild is an appealing notion, but is it an effective and cost-effective conservation measure? This talk will examine what animals are being reintroduced to the wild, where and how they are being reintroduced, what agencies are responsible, and what can be said about success. Cognitive aspects will be included.
