Krasnow Institute > Monday Seminars > Abstracts THE ORANG UTAN LANGUAGE PROJECT AT THINK TANK Robert Shumaker Think Tank is the National Zoo's center for the exhibition and study of thinking behavior. Unique for any zoo or university, cognitive research is conducted on display for visitors. In this presentation, a description of the Orang utan Language Project will be given. The OLP, based in Think Tank, is focused on exploring the behavior and perceptions of orang utans through the use of a symbol-based language. Initial results on the topic of orang utan observational learning abilities will be presented.
