Krasnow Institute > Monday Seminars > Abstracts Evolving Intelligence: A Computational Approach Kenneth De Jong Designing and implementing systems that exhibit "intelligence" presents a variety of difficult challenges. As we set more complex behavioral goals, the need to (partially) automate this process becomes increasingly evident. One approach involves the use of Darwinian-like evolutionary algorithms to evolve ever improving intelligent systems. The basic principles of this approach are illustrated in the context of a series of example applications from biometrics, evolutionary robotics, and complex adaptive systems.
