Krasnow Institute > Monday Seminars > Abstracts Resource Allocation Analysis of the Stochastic Diffusion Search Slawek Nasuto Two important problems faced by Artificial Intelligence are modeling "attention" and invariant recognition. Analogous problems have been solved by nature and are also important research problems in neuroscience. The Stochastic Diffusion Search (SDS) provides a unified solution to both problems by appropriate allocation of computational resources. The talk will discuss the resource allocation of SDS highlighting its ability for adaptive behavior. The qualitative properties of SDS suggest a question whether this type of information processing takes place in the brain. The last part of the talk will review some evidence that might support this hypothesis. The Krasnow Institute for Advanced Study |
